Other (Performances, Interventions, etc.) > Gift Pens (pen poetry)

An ongoing project the "Gift Pens" are inspired by Derrida's use of the term "cartouche" in his work The Truth in Painting and practically by artist Marc Tomko. In French "cartouche" means cartridge - as in an ink cartridge or a gun cartridge. These pens are meant to act as metaphorical bullets in what they bleed out and in what impact they might have.

As an intervention they have occurred in Banff, Canada; Cleveland, OH; and Newark, New Jersey. It is an ongoing project and pens will continue to be distributed.
